Compress PDF

Make a PDF smaller before emailing, uploading, or sharing it. Adjust the page resolution and image quality, then let the tool re-render your pages into a leaner file. You'll see the before and after size right away — and your file never leaves your browser.

100% private. Your file is processed locally in your browser and is never uploaded to any server.

Smaller settings shrink the file more, but reduce page sharpness.

Large files may take longer or fail in some browsers.

How to compress a PDF

  1. 1

Upload the PDF file you want to shrink.

  2. 2

Pick a compression preset (Low, Medium, High) or fine-tune the resolution and quality sliders.

  3. 3

Click "Reduce file size" and compare the before/after sizes. Download when you're happy with the result.

How it works: this tool re-renders each page as a compressed image at your chosen resolution and quality, then rebuilds the PDF. It's an honest, effective way to cut size for most documents, but results vary — text-only PDFs may not shrink much.
